Many of my childhood summers were spent in the countryside, where chickens were part of everyday life. Some were curious, some were funny, and some carried themselves like fearless warriors.
This painting is inspired by those strong personalities. With her steady gaze and commanding presence, this hen feels less like a farm bird and more like a small but determined guardian of her world.
