“Cowboy Cat Pet in a Red Scarf” is part of Marina Fisher’s ongoing series “Cat Dimension,” which explores feline identity through narrative imagery and symbolic presence.
The painting depicts a wide-eyed cat, stylized as a playful figure from the American Wild West. Wearing a cowboy hat and a bright red bandana, the character exudes humor, boldness, and charm. The luminous green eyes create an immediate connection, while the expressive brushwork and layered textures lend the work depth and physical presence.
The background, composed of vintage-style typography in muted blue tones, creates a subtle dialogue between past and present. Against this cool, structured backdrop, the rich red bandana becomes the central element, symbolizing courage, individuality, and energy. This work was created in preparation for the international exhibition “Cat Dimensions” (April 24 – June 1, 2026, Tallinn), organized by the International Online Artists Association, which currently brings together artists from 15 countries. Three works were required to be selected for the exhibition. Despite having created only two cat paintings early in her career, Marina enthusiastically embraced the challenge. What once seemed complex and uncertain suddenly became flexible and intuitive—a natural creative development.
Inspired by a predominantly American audience, the artist imagined a feline image rooted in Wild West mythology, reimagined with humor and a contemporary pictorial language. The result is a joyful, charismatic composition that connects cultural imagery with personal artistic growth.
