Many of my childhood summers were spent by a small river with my grandmother. She would bring a folding chair and sit by the water, keeping an eye on us while we swam and played.
Years have passed, but those memories remain vivid. The river in this painting became a reflection of time itself—always moving forward, carrying moments away while somehow preserving them in memory.
A small chair appears in the composition as a quiet reference to those summer days. It is both an ordinary object and a reminder of how deeply certain places and people stay with us long after they are gone.
