“Seascape Waves” is an original large-scale oil painting created using my signature impasto technique. Thick, expressive layers of oil paint, applied with a palette knife, imbue the surface with movement, depth, and luminous texture. The sculptural brushstrokes interact beautifully with the light, creating a dynamic, almost captivating effect.
Living by the sea, I am constantly inspired by its energy and transparency. My goal was to create a marine work of art that felt powerful yet light—a painting that could enhance and harmonize any interior space. Despite the complexity of working on a 60 x 80 cm / 24 x 30 inch canvas, the process unfolded naturally and intuitively, as if the waves themselves were guiding the composition.
Only later did I fully understand the story hidden within the painting. One of my guests, who was learning to dive, immediately recognized the scene. She described the magical moment of emerging from the depths and watching the sunlight refract and shimmer on the surface. This captivating transition between depth and light is captured in this painting.
Her words deeply touched me because I too experienced this sensation during my dive. The painting conveys this unique perspective: the meeting point between the ocean depths and the shining sky, where water becomes light.
